Naspers’ ShowMax opts for co-working at Nairobi Garage
Naspers-owned internet TV company ShowMax has chosen co-working space Nairobi Garage as its Kenyan headquarters, saying the company wants to learn from the startup community in Nairobi.
Launched in South Africa in 2015, ShowMax decided this year to open an East African office based in Nairobi, to aid its pan-African expansion.
Rather than set up its own office, ShowMax has chosen to position itself within the local entrepreneurship hub, saying the decision was prompted by the recognition that regional expansion plans must be based on local knowledge.

Объектом продажи является 100% доля в компании, а покупателями — фонды частных инвестиций Cinven, Permira и Mid Europa. Сумма сделки составляет $3,253 млрд.
Allegro основана в 1999 году, общая аудитория пользователей ее площадок составляет порядка 20 млн человек. Общий ежедневный объем продаж на ее площадках — 850 000 товаров в день. У компании пять офисов — в Познани, Варшаве, Торуне, Вроцлаве и Кракове. Ранее у компании было представительство в Украине — Allegro Group Ukraine, которое объединяло украинские активы Naspers.
African Internet Giant Naspers Launches Streaming Service In Poland
Having perfected video streaming via Africa’s harsh Internet, emerging market Internet and media giant Naspers is launching a pure-play service in Poland through its ShowMax subsidiary.
While streaming services like ShowMax have traditionally been so-called third screens (after cinema and television), the Polish operation will compete head-to-head with traditional broadcasting. This «first screen» offering will feature local TV shows and movies in Polish, many exclusively, and plans to create original content.
